Write what you want to write.

Of course, this post isn’t about something that simple.

I want you to come up with your own writing prompt. And then do it. Feel free to share it with me or anyone else, but the point of it is to do it yourself.

This is an exercise for you to figure out what your subconscious wants to write about. If you come up with a prompt that says you have to write with the words “otter,” “hat,” “reverend,” “tiny,” and “gooey,” then maybe your subconscious has an idea that involves these words.

Let your subconscious guide your writing. Writing isn’t all thinking. You have to find out what you really want deep down and just roll with it.

So come up with something. And write it. You just might be surprised.
