Do you ever want to submit something to a literary magazine? And then, when you’re about to submit it, you realize it’s completely terrible?
It’s a horrible feeling.
What do you do when you get that feeling? How do you deal with it?
You just have to suck it up and either submit it right then or edit it and then submit it.
In the interest of full disclosure, I’m really bad at doing that. But that’s what being a writer is. Sucking it up and seeing what someone has to say about your work anyway. It just might be better than you think.
And if you really hate your story, then write a new one and try it instead. Submit to a variety of places.
And if that’s not working for you, read their guidelines. Read their featured stories. What’s yours missing? Keep at it.
