I just found your blog a few days ago and I love it so far. I was actually searching for resources about food. Especially food that’s easy to find during a march through a forest. My prota’s have been eating fish they catched in a river for like 5 chapters now and I guess I should get them a variety.. but I think finding potatoes or even tomatoes is too easy(?). I found a few sites on google but somehow that wasn’t the right place

Hi! Welcome to the blog, and thanks for loving it! 🙂

It honestly depends on where the forest is and what kind it is. A forest in Tennessee is going to be different from a forest in Alaska, for example.

They should see if they can find some fruits, nuts, and seeds. They could also try to catch fish, rabbits, or even squirrels if they’re not terribly opposed to that. It’s pretty easy to make a fishing pole, and they could probably make a trap for rabbits and other small critters.

Here are some resources I found–they cover traits of poisonous plants and other stuff your characters will need to know for survival:

I hope this helps! If it doesn’t, then let me know, and I can do some more digging for you. 🙂
