It is okay to start writing even if you don’t have a clear vision of what you are going to write.

This is my problem, I’m someone that needs a well thought out perfection piece – that I procrastinate writing because my thoughts aren’t lined up to go where I want

Me too! That’s why I like to give myself reminders like this. 🙂

I get to know my characters really well before I get all the important plot points laid out.

If you know your characters as if they were real people, then it’s not too hard to figure out what they would do.

You don’t have to know that Main Character kills Antagonist and cries afterward and leaves to go do what they need to do because they realize how important their mission is. As long as you know that Main Character kills Antagonist and leaves to finish their duties, then you’re good to go. It allows wiggle room in case the way you write it affects the general tone of the scene and the rest of the story.

But sometimes you need to write for the sake of writing! That’s when tips like this come in handy. 🙂
