I have yet to read a novel in which female characters have menstrual cycles
me, because badass girls taking down a vague yet menacing government agency or riding dragons to glory still get their periods (via darn-you-cumberbatch)
#this was a running gag in a fantasy novel i wrote a long while back#a group of college kids were transported to another realm (like y’do)#and one of the ladies would go from town to town in search of something resembling a pad#and at one point in the middle of a strategy meeting#she loses her shit and shouts ‘i’ve been bleeding out my vagina for the last four days into a bunch of fucking rags#’so i really don’t have the patience to deal with your bullshit about entertaining your troops on the road’#and if you open your mouth again pescek i swear to every god i will reach right down my pants grab my bloody rags and THROW them at you’#and the king just stares at her and is like ‘her. i want her to lead the armies.’ (via rcmclachlan)
WHERE IS THIS NOVEL?!
(via magicmumu)
I know it’s inconvenient to think about menstrual cycles in stories, because it detracts away from the main story, but it would be nice to at least acknowledge this kind of stuff.
