Just one quick thing: asexuals/aromantics do get attacked for our orientation. Not to the same scale other LGBT+ folks do but we still face things like corrective rape and forced relationships.

Great points! Thank you for sharing! My experience has been pretty minimally bad, and I didn’t want to speak beyond what I know personally since everyone’s experience is different.

The quantity of these problems is fewer than the rest of the community, but they do still exist, and they are not things that a straight person would typically have to deal with. Sure, there’s rape and forced relationships that straight people deal with, but it’s for different reasons.

I’ve only told a few people face-to-face about being on the asexual spectrum, because it doesn’t seem worth the stress.

Thanks again for speaking up! I am not a good representative of the community since I mostly keep quiet. I appreciate you coming forward.
