I have experienced the thing where you look at two characters who instantly dislike each other and the reaction is ‘you just wait… you’re gonna fall for each other… and kiss, and pine. there will be so much pining’. But starting more recently I have also experienced a thing where I look at two characters who instantly despise each other and my reaction is ‘you just wait… you’re gonna be best friends… you’re gonna rely on each other and share backstories and emotionally support each other,’ and that is also a good and satisfying feeling to have.
