Unpopular opinion: “this character shouldn’t be redeemed” is not the same as “this character shouldn’t have a redemption arc.”

A well-written redemption arc makes a character redeemable. 

A character who doesn’t have a well-written redemption arc shouldn’t be redeemed until they go through a redemption arc that’s proportional to their villainous deeds.
