things that help a tiny bit

  • imagining your heart is full of vibrant, blooming flowers, or stars, or a forest, rather than empty
  • when you’re outside, notice things on purpose to smile about
  • make up stories about strangers passing by
  • when you’re speaking to someone: rather than overthinking about yourself, find traits that are beautiful about them and listen deeply to what they’re not saying
  • be genuine, and if you feel like you’re genuinely cynical and negative, find ways to heal yourself and change your view on the world
