Have you ever experienced an excruciating writer’s block that leads to extreme depression? I haven’t been able to write a single meaningful thing for months. I feel like my talent and motivation is draining out of me by the second. All I want to do is write but it just seems impossible. What could I possibly do?

Definitely! And sometimes it’s the other way around. Try setting off 15 minutes for yourself to write tomorrow. Then, sit down wherever you normally write, and breathe deeply 3 times. Do you know any good places to start writing? I’m going to be doing my story in chapters, but I’m really new to this and don’t know where I should publish/upload/write. I’ve seen several websites, but they are mostly for Novels only. Got anything? <3 thanks

I have an assignment where I have to write a scene where my character has to make an important decision and you have to show the effects. This seems simple at first, but the story is an apocalyptic one. My characters motto is kill or be killed. Originally I was going to write the scene in which she ended up that cold, but I realized that it wasn’t a decision, it was happenstance. Im not sure if this counts. Any ideas or prompts to get an apocalypse story going? Thanks!

I was wondering if you also provide just general support for writers? Because I think it would be awesome if here shortly you accepted, like, everyone’s first lines (or maybe a small excerpt) from their project jst so it’s out there in the world and people are looking at it? I don’t know about other people but to me it’s a completely different feeling soloing such a big project alone that only my eyes can see. It feels good just to put a little out there in the world and let others see. :D

I’m having a very difficult time beginning my story and I hate starting from the middle and writing the beginning later. How should I start it? I want to physically and mentally describe the four main characters and the place they are in; it’s going to be told in first person. Every time I try and write it it doesn’t sound good. So you have any tips or techniques for writer’s block in the VERY beginning?😰 thanks a ton in advance!

For the anon of this post post/127573075279 – For me, it’s always easier to write out the scenes I see clearly (which is what I’m doing now), write the ending, and then go back to the beginning. Sometimes when I’m stuck on the beginning, it’s because I’m missing key information that’s needed and I find that while writing out other parts. Of course, everyone has different techniques that work for them and finding out what they are can be difficult.

Thank you! 🙂 That’s definitely a good technique for people who don’t like working chronologically! I’m the kind of weirdo who has to do it all in order and then revise later with new information and dialogue. XD

Hello there. I don’t wanna waste your time, but, uh, I’m having troubles with writing lately. I can’t write beginnings of anything. I know what will happen later on, but I’m not able to start it. It’s so frustrating. Is there something I can do about it?
