How is your personal process for coming up with a book title?

writingquestionsanswered: Guide: Coming Up with a Story/Book Title It’s funny you should ask this now, because normally I’m someone who tends to come up with titles, or title possibilities, fairly easily. If anything I may have to tweak a title… Read moreHow is your personal process for coming up with a book title?

So idk if you’ve ever expressed your opinion on this (I’m new :) ) but how do you feel about a 3p pov backstory at the beginning of a book (ex. the first chapter of harry potter if I remember right) I think my WIP could really benefit from it since it’s such a complicated world building piece so a explanation of how everything came to be might be more helpful than the readers learning with the MC but I know some people are like super against that so I just wanted to know your thoughts personally

writingquestionsanswered: Backstory at the Beginning of a Book Part of why this method worked with Harry Potter is because things were actually happening. It wasn’t just exposition dumped into the reader’s lap by a narrator or any number of POV… Read moreSo idk if you’ve ever expressed your opinion on this (I’m new 🙂 ) but how do you feel about a 3p pov backstory at the beginning of a book (ex. the first chapter of harry potter if I remember right) I think my WIP could really benefit from it since it’s such a complicated world building piece so a explanation of how everything came to be might be more helpful than the readers learning with the MC but I know some people are like super against that so I just wanted to know your thoughts personally

Hello, I wanted to ask how I could rewrite/refocus a plot? I wrote down the whole plot for my story, it’s about forbidden love (human×non-human) but I realized that I lost focus from the couple and made the story much bigger with a big fight and lots of dead ppl. But since I didn’t planned to make it a big thing or having a meaningful message I feel that the dead ppl and the end where the couple flees to live safely together is not … fitting? Can’t live up to the readers expectations?

Hello! Just came across your blog, thank you for all the effort you put into your answers! I was wondering if you had any tips with making the ending of a story satisfying even if it’s an abrupt ending/not a happy ending? I’m writing a story (that I might animate later) but the plot I have laid out doesn’t allow much room for “epilogue scenes,” if that makes sense. It ends shortly after the climax, which is where I want to end it, but I’m worried it’s too abrupt. Sorry if this is too vague ^^

Sorry if you have answered this a thousand time : But what kind of advice do you have for stilted scenes? You know the ones, where it feels like dry cardboard and tastes like wood chips.
